Michelle Vance works as a Houston hair stylist at The Upper Hand’s River Oak’s location. Michelle is amazing at all things hair, but specializes in blending and balayage.
Born and raised in Houston, Michelle graduated from Paul Mitchell in 2015 and went straight into the hair industry. She has worked in the industry for a total of three years, and has been a certified stylist for two and a half years. Michelle is a Goldwell Master Colorist as well as a trained KMS IQ Cutter. She loves to see a client happy and smiling after she finishes a haircut or style, citing this as “the greatest feeling in the world.”
Michelle loves the diversity of Houston and the amazing food scene, as the city is known nationwide for both. Her favorite restaurants are Osaka for sushi and Sullivan’s Steakhouse for…well, its namesake.
If Michelle could work on any celebrity’s hair, she would choose Taylor Swift because she’s “obsessed,” with her look, her personality, and “well, everything,” about her! She’d love the chance to meet Swift one day.
Outside of work, Michelle spends the bulk of her free time painting. She is an animal-lover and has a lot of pets, all of whom she enjoys taking care of. Her dream is to someday open up a No-Kill Shelter in Houston. Lately, Michelle has been getting into photography and practices by capturing photos of her friends. All-in-all, Michelle is an artistic soul.
