How to Tease Hair Tip Two: Va Va Voloom

Do you remember the crimping irons that made their debut in the 80s? Some of you may still have one, and if you do, you can substitute it for this next step to reach new hair heights. The Voloom Volumizing Iron, $130 on line, is essentially a crimping iron designed to create softer crimps which are easy to hide. Simply section your hair and lightly crimp the hair directly beneath it. Release the top layer of hair and Voila…volume for days! I’m not joking. The crimped hair stays crimped for 3-4 days without any touch-up. The styling possibilities are endless!

How to Tease Hair Tip Three: Virtual Teasing

I’m not suggesting that you tease your hair in a parallel universe, but I am suggesting that there are numerous products available that will give you very similar results. My absolute favorite, can’t live without teasing substitute, is Oribe’s Dry Textutrizing Spray, $45. I affectionately call it Black Magic! A few sprays of this beauty in targeted areas will give you volume and lasting hold with style memory. You can also rework it with your fingertips throughout the day to pump up your volume. I must also tell you about a Black Magic challenger by KMS called Liquid Dust, $20.  When emulsified and applied at the root, this lightweight gel creates buildable structure making it ideal for voluminous down styles and sexy up styles.
